The Lincoln Park Boys and Girls Club unveiled its new teen center, Tuesday.

The club spent almost three months renovating the space that formerly functioned as the shop classroom, when the Lincoln Park School was open.

Executive director Todd Johnson said the renovations were made possible by a capital campaign that included donations from Major League Baseball following last years Home Run Derby in Minneapolis.

In addition to the monetary donations, the center received donations from area businesses and the City of Duluth.

The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce held a formal ribbon cutting ceremony at the center, Tuesday.

The renovations to the center included adding a recording studio, theater and sound system, a food bar area and game room upgrades.

The center will be open from 3:30-8:30 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
