Learn How to Compost Fall Leafs
Officials Want you to Compost Fall Leafs
Fall has only just begun and people across the Northland are already wondering what to do with excess leafs laying around their yards.
WLSSD is encouraging community members to drop it off at their composting site which is located just off of Interstate 35 at 27th Avenue West.
Minnesota law prohibits yard waste in the garbage since 1990.
WLSSD’s yard waste compost site provides a cost effective way for residents to manage leaf waste.
Susan Darley-Hill, the Environmental Program Coordinator, said “We encourage folks to bring them here. At the end we have a wonderful product.”
Residents can also compost yard trimmings on their own at home.
