Students Bake Pies for CHUM
All the Proceeds of the Event go to the Food Shelf
The sweet smell of pumpkin pie filled the copper top church, where more than 100 pies were sold for a good cause
St.Scholastica students volunteered to make pumpkin pies at First United Methodist Church. It’s an event that happens every year for community day.
“There’s a lot of homeless people in Duluth so just making sure that they get to celebrate with more than just canned food and making sure that they’re getting food,” said Mary Kraemer, a student at St. Scholastica.
The pies were sold for 12 dollars each, with all profits benefiting CHUM’s Food Shelf, to help feed people in need.
Left Over pies were frozen and will be given to families who go to the food shelf on Thanksgiving.
