UMD Raises Awareness for Mental Health
Students invited other students to come speak about their experience with mental health
October is mental health awareness month and breaking it down further. This week is national week without stigma
Events are being held all across the country including right here in our own back yard. The event at UMD tonight was meant to encourage conversation around mental health and allow others to feel comfortable talking about these issues that affect everybody.
“On college campuses across the nation people are putting on different events to kind of talk and educate and raise awareness, it’s really important especially in the mental health field and the field that is a growing trend with students on campuses,” says Staff Advisor Alissa Stianbrook
Those that came shared their story in many different ways like, music, artwork and or poetry.
