How to Prepare Your Home for Winter
If All Else Fails, Call a Professional
With the temperatures dropping rapidly, homeowners are preparing to get their houses ready for the winter.
Experts say some of the important things to remember are to check and change your filters on your furnace, and to chance your thermostat from cooling to heating, something a surprising number of people forget to do. It also helps to take out your window screens and install storm windows, to avoid air drafts and leaks.
“Inspect your chimney, and all your heating ducts. Make sure there are no leaks, and if there is, make sure they are taped up, sealed off, and all that kind of stuff,” said Giorgio Gallo, the Office Manager at Summit Mechanical Service.
And if you have any questions, call a professional.
