Group Provides Support to Grandparents Raising their Grandchildren

Group members share their stories, their struggles, and their triumphs in raising children who are not their own.

The Grandparents Parenting Again group provides support to those relatives who are raising children that are related to them, but not their own.

The group discusses everything from caring for young children at an older age to dealing with drug addiction in the family. Most importantly, group members provide a listening ear to one another.

“The one thing we really want people to know is that they are not alone. We’re all in this together and we’d love to have you come see us. The kids that’s the primary…the kids and their well being,” said co-founder Deb Setterstrom.

The group meets every other Tuesday at the Head Start Center number one building in Superior. Its address is 1500 N. 34th Street.
