Montessori School Hosts Annual Fall Fest
The Duluth school showcased some new additions
The Montessori School in Duluth held its annual Fall Fest.
Kids learned how to press their own apple cider while enjoying some live folk music.
The school had a chance to showcase some new additions as well. They received a $150,000 solar rebate from Minnesota power to improve the eco-footprint of the school.
The school installed rain gardens to filter storm runoff back to lake superior…and solar panels now make the school completely energy self–sustainable.
“This all gets back to the root of Montessori,” said Luke Peterson, a Montessori School board member. “Children learn from the environment around them… By putting the right investment in well-designed space we are able to teach our children about the impacts we are having on the environment in a very positive and concrete way.”
