Click It or Ticket in Minnesota
Special enforcement of seat belt laws through Oct. 30
It’s click it or ticket season in Minnesota.
Law enforcement agencies across the state are putting a special focus on enforcing seat belt laws now through October 30th.
The special enforcement is designed to improve safety after 91 unbelted motorists lost their lives on Minnesota roads last year.
If any driver or passenger in a vehicle is not wearing a seat belt, that vehicle can be stopped by the police.
“The campaign is not click it or warning, it’s click it or ticket so if you get stopped for not wearing your seat belt, it’s going to result in a ticket,” says Officer Ron Tinsley of the Duluth Police Department.
The special focus on seat belt laws ends at the end of this month, but police will continue to enforce seat belt laws year round.
