Duluth Curling Club Offers Free Clinic

Learn to Curl for Free at the DECC

For the past two nights the Duluth Curling Club has opened its doors to the public for a “Learn to Curl” clinic.  It’s a chance to learn about the sport, which involves brain power and a lot of touch.

“The strategy maybe similar to bocce ball, some people call it chess on ice. People call it shuffle board, but it’s a long ways from shuffle board. I always think of it as throwing a frisbee, got a lot of touch, got a lot of touch to the game,” said Phil Devore, an instructor with the Duluth Curling Club.

The club will hold one more free event Wednesday night for the public, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DECC.
