UMD Engineering Students Host Mini Golf Fundraiser
Each hole had an engineering theme, designed by the partnering companies and civil engineering department
UMD civil engineering students applied their skills to create a fundraising event today.
The American Society of Civil Engineers on campus created a mini golf course along with local companies and engineering firms.
Students and local professionals were invited to play the 5–hole course.
Each hole had an engineering theme, designed by the partnering companies and civil engineering department.
“We wanted to do something interesting as a fundraiser instead of send letters and get money back,” said Jacob Bray, a civil engineering student at UMD. “We wanted to do something more fun, as well as do a networking event so students could talk to local professionals and see what they are doing in the workplace.”
Money raised will help civil engineering student groups travel to conferences and participate in competitions throughout the year.
