Focus on Family Service for Family Volunteer Day

Strengthening Community Through Volunteering

This weekend Family Volunteer Day is giving Northland families the opportunity to bond over service.

The free event will be put on by The Head of the Lakes United Way, American Red Cross, Duluth YMCA and Harbor House Crisis Shelters.

The Red Cross will give presentations on disaster preparedness and also give families the opportunity to make cards for troops. This is part of their Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

Through the Head of the Lakes United Way, families will made snowflakes for the Harbor House Crisis Shelter in Superior.

Families will also receive a free “Youth and Family Volunteering Guide” to use as a resource in finding volunteer opportunities in the Twin Ports area.

Family Volunteer Day is Saturday, November 19 at the Duluth YMCA from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
