Professional Surveyors Attend Conference at DECC
DULUTH, Minn. — In just about every industry, technology has gotten more and more advanced in recent years.
And for professional surveyors that is especially true.
It’s a job that requires advanced math skills, knowledge of physics, engineering, and zoning laws.
And professional surveyors from around the region are in town for a three day conference at the DECC in Duluth.
Members of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS) are attending meetings and discussions about the latest advances in their profession.
“It’s a changing field so it’s a little different,” said MSPS Executive Director Nick De Julio. “It’s not just sitting on the side of the road kind of holding a stick anymore.”
One local topic the surveyors will be discussing is the future of the new section of Highway 53 in Virginia.
This is the 65th annual convention for MSPS, and the first year they’ve held it in Duluth.
