DULUTH, Minn. – The FOX 21 Morning Crew hit the road for this week’s Cooking Connection, stopping by Great Harvest Bread Co. in Duluth.
Lee Davidson, Co-Owner of Great Harvest, gave Brett Scott a tour of the facility, while employees were hard at work shaping fresh baguettes.
The team typically gets to work around 3:45a.m., with one baker sponging breads, while another employee concentrates on sweet treats for the day.
New challenges are faced everyday in the bread baking industry. Davidson says temperature, humidity, and coldness can greatly affect the finished product.
Anywhere from five to ten different breads are baked fresh daily, with special breads throughout the week.
Thursday morning, the aroma of cranberry wild rice bread swept through the facility located at 3 South 13th Avenue East in Duluth.
