Several Arrested in Stand Off Southeast of Bemidji
TEN LAKES TOWNSHIP, Minn. – The Beltrami County Sheriff’s office reports that on Thursday, March 16 around 3:40 a.m., 911 dispatch received information from a female caller that she needed help. As attempts were made to gather information, the call was disconnected.
Beltrami County Deputies and Leech Lake Tribal officers were dispatched to the scene, in the 100 block of Mission Road SE in Ten Lakes Township, 14 miles southeast of Bemidji.
When officers arrived, they made contact with the female caller, who indicated individuals inside may be armed with firearms.
As more information was gathered at the scene, officers learned that the subjects in the residence were actively barricading themselves inside.
Attempts were made to negotiate with the individuals, but were unsuccessful, resulting in the dispatch of Headwaters SWAT Team.
Negotiations continued, and just before 7 a.m., tear gas was successfully deployed, and multiple individuals were arrested.
No other information is available, as the investigation is on-going.
