Weekend Spotlight: April 7-9

DULUTH, Minn. – Craft beer lovers- it’s that time of year… the 20th annual Gitchee Gumee Brewfest is this Saturday at UWS’s Wessman Arena in Superior.  It’s your chance to sample over 100 plus different beers from 30 different brewers all under one roof.  The event is limited to just 1,200 people and a handful of General Admission tickets are still available.  And it’s all for a good cause- it’s a fundraising event for the Superior Jaycees!  The VIP Brewfest doors open at 4, General Admission starts at 5 and runs until 8pm.  It is a 21+ event – everyone must show ID to get in.

If you are looking for some laughs, head to the Dubh Linn Irish Brew Pub this Saturday night for professional stand-up comedy!  This week’s headliner is Patrick Garrity.   Patrick’s comedy is fresh & original. Through characters, impressions and real-life situations, Patrick tells energized stories about being in the military, growing up a younger brother & why Irish don’t trash talk.  Patrick has appeared on NBC & CBS Comedy Night School.  He has two shows this Saturday, one at 6:30, the other at 9 – tickets are just $13.  Dubh Linn’s is located in downtown Duluth.

And finally – if you’re looking for some great rockin’ blues music you love to dance to, check out the band Virgil Caine this Friday night at the Break Room.  They are known for their wide variety of high energy blues music complete tight vocals & phenomenal guitar playing.  Always a guaranteed good time!  They take the stage starting at 9 – it’s free to get in.  The Break Room is located at 501 E. 4th Street in downtown Duluth.
