1 Dead After Train Strikes Passenger Vehicle in Carlton Co.

CARLTON CO. - One person is dead after a train struck a vehicle in Carlton County.
Wednesday morning right before eight a.m. authorities got a call that a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train heading east hit a passenger vehicle at the East Mud Lake crossing at the Intersection of Highway 210 and Birchwood Drive.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Cromwell Ambulance and Wright First Responders were dispatched to the scene where the driver of the passenger vehicle was found dead on arrival.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota State Patrol, along with Burlington Northern, are currently investigating the accident.
The name of the victim will be released as soon as family members are contacted.
