SUPERIOR - Congressman Sean Duffy and Senator Pat Kreitlow went head to head in their final debate Thursday.
The hour long debate was live at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
The gloves were off as each candidate stood strong on why they think they are the best man for the job.
Nearly 200 people packed the Yellowjacket Union with a fair amount being college students.
The debate started on an even playing field when discussing the biggest topic in the country right now, Hurricane Sandy.
Both agree the country needs to take better care of the environment, but things got heated when the topic of taxes came up.
"What Congressman Duffy is talking about, is we closed the biggest loopholes at the state level. He's been fighting to keep them open at the federal level," Kreitlow said.
"This is a record of someone who says, I support legislation, that picks winners and losers in big banks, and if they gamble, if they fail, he wants tax payers here in superior, in Wisconsin, and in America to bail him out," Duffy said.
The moderator during the debate was former long time television anchor, Pat Kelly.
The debate was not only broadcasted live on KUWS, but also on sister stations across the entire 7th district.
