DULUTH - Duluth's new aviation maintenance facility has started its search to round out its technician staff.
AAR Corp began taking applications and conducting interviews for aircraft mechanics and inspectors Tuesday, as it gets ready to open in the old Northwest Airlines Base.
"These certificated workers will basically take the whole airplane apart, put it in a bazillion pieces, check everything to make sure that it's safe and what we call air worthy. Then they put it all back together in 30 days and out it goes out of the hangar," said Greg Dellinger, recruiting director for AAR Corp.
The company expects to hire up to 225 workers to fix the planes.
They're also looking to hire supervisors.
