DULUTH - The Lake Superior Zoo celebrated the birth of three baby lemurs.
Sterling gave birth to one and Coby birthed twins about two weeks ago.
Zookeepers say while the babies are cute to play with it's important for them to focus on the source of food for the little ones: the mothers.
"We want to make sure we're taking care of the moms in a way that we're meeting their dietary needs. We up their caloric intake and give them as much food as they want,” Lake Superior Zookeeper David Thompson said.
Lemurs are considered near threatened by the International Union of the Conservation of Nature.
They live in forested areas of southwest and southern Madagascar.
