Press Release
DULUTH - It is with great sadness that we have learned that Jeffery Watson Jr, Age 13, of Duluth died today as a result of complications from the water accident that occurred Monday in Lake Superior.
Watson had been swimming with friends near Uncle Harvey's Mausoleum, an abandoned grain dock, when he went underwater and did not
resurface.
Search crews located Jeffery after he had been submerged for approximately 32 minutes and he had received emergency medical treatment at St. Mary's Hospital.
Jeffery was transferred to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis this morning, where he died at 3:49pm today.
Family spokesman Pastor Gabriel Green of Duluth's Church of Restoration requests the following be relayed to the community on behalf of the family: "Jeffery was loved by everyone and will be missed by his community and church".
