Despite an early exit from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament, the University of Minnesota Duluth has earned an invitation to the Division II NCAA Tournament.
The Bulldogs are seeded fourth in the Central Region, and will meet Concordia University-St. Paul Friday in Mankato.
This is UMD's third consecutive NCAA appearance and sixth time in program history. The Bulldogs have earned an NCAA bid in four of Jen Banford's seven years as head coach.
"This team deserves it more than any team," said Banford. "We've had a great year, and every year out first goal is that conference championship, and ultimately it's to make for an opportunity at the NCAA's for a chance to keep going to the end.
