CLOQUET - A mother finally has some closure after her son was left on a Head Start bus in freezing temperatures for three hours.
The Carlton Co. Attorney's office has charged Thomas Soderholm, 53, with child endangerment.
That's a gross misdemeanor and carries a maximum of one year in prison.
According to the criminal complaint, Ty Stiffarm, 3, was sitting in the first row near the bus driver.
Soderholm told investigators when he got back to the bus garage he looked under the seats to check for any dangling legs, but he did not see any children.
The complaint says it's also the bus monitor's responsibility to check for kids.
Investigators later learned bus monitor Anthony Anderson has some cognitive disabilities and he may not have checked the bus at all.
Ty's mother says her son will be in therapy for the next six months.
He will also be switching head start programs in the fall.
