DULUTH - Northlanders got their first sips of beer at Canal Park's newest brewery Thursday.
The general manager at Canal Park Brewing Company says 100 people came through the doors within the first 45 minutes of being open.
They're serving up burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and four different kinds of beer so far.
Customers say it couldn't be a better fit for Duluth.
"We know it was a new operation and we wanted to be the first ones to be here. In fact, I wanted to be the first one to come in, and I think about four people beat me! So I'm delighted things are moving an everyone's excited to be here," said Dan Grandmaison, a customer.
"We're proud to be part of the local brewing culture. It's only going to grow. We're the next thing, there will be another next thing, and we just want to be part of it," said Tom Eugnis, general manager.
The rest of the beer on tap should be in by the end of the week.
