CHISHOLM - One of Chisholm's most popular and oldest historical icons received a much–needed makeover Friday.
The 100–ton, 1907 locomotive at the Minnesota Museum of Mining was picked up and put on new, stable tracks.
It was the first exhibit at the museum when it opened more than 50 years ago, and it is expected to last for many more.
"Just to think that all these kids in the future, their grandparents, their parents played on this thing and now it's good for other kids, for other generations to come," Terry Nosan from the Minnesota Mining Museum said.
The restored exhibit is open to the public when the museum opens for the season on Memorial Day weekend.
