DULUTH - The city council voted in favor of four top priorities for the next legislative session.
The priorities included flood recovery and relief projects, restoring previous cuts in local government aid, the enactment of a comprehensive jobs bill, and public infrastructure funding including street and bridge construction along with wastewater and drinking water.
The council's first vote on a proposed property tax increase for 2013 also drew some attention from the meeting Monday night.
The proposed levy is set at 2.8 percent.
Several residents expressed frustrations with the ongoing tax increases at the meeting, but the council voted in favor of it.
The final vote on the levy and budget will take place at the next Duluth City Council meeting.
