DULUTH - Students studying for finals at St. Scholastica now have an excuse to take a break at the library.
Ten-month-old Spirit is being offered as a stress reliever during finals week.
She's a trained therapy dog looking to give students some time away from their books.
"So she comes in and the students spend time with her and she's a very calming and relaxing influence on them,” Spirit’s owner, Jeffrey Kirk said.
Spirit also makes trips to local nursing homes and Kirk is looking to soon bring her into schools so young children can practice reading to her.
