Fire Officials Let Ore Dock Structure Burn

SUPERIOR - Fire officials let a house on top of an ore dock burn on Friday night in Superior.
According to the Superior Fire Department, heavy smoke was coming from a house on top of the dock around 5:30 p.m. at 3701 37th avenue in Superior.
The fire was burning in a large two story brick structure built approximately 100 feet above the ground.
Fire officials said the structure had been abandoned for years.
The flames had diminished on their own in the first few minutes.
The search crew reported no occupants.
Officials said with no lives or valuable property in danger, this was one of the rare cases where it made more sense to do nothing.
They said the fire was completey out on Saturday morning.
Officials do not know the cause.
The investigation is complete.
