SUPERIOR - Firefighters in Superior were forced to battle flames in the hot weather Monday evening.
The firefighters were geared up trying to get control of flames shooting out of a home around six pm on the 1200 block of Central Avenue.
Fire officials had to send a rehab medical vehicle to the scene to check the firefighters' vitals and get them re-hydrated while monitoring their bodies for heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is not known.
Firefighters say they'd rather fight a fire in temperatures 10 below zero than 90–plus because it's easier to warm up than cool down.
