Free Flood-Damaged Item Disposal Offered by WLSSD

DULUTH-Waste removal sites are bringing in hundreds of people to drop-off their ruined, flood-soggied items.
The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District is taking in garbage for free.
That's continuing through Thursday and Friday at their Materials Recovery Center (4587 Ridgeview Road, Duluth).
Residents are encouraged to separate their loads to help with traffic at the center.
The categories are as follows:
Residents who do not have access to a vehicle to transport flood-damaged materials should visit the United Way website at www.unitedwayduluth.org and click on "Get Help" to request assistance.
Local waste haulers can also be contacted to pick up material for a fee from residential customers.
Area residents should contact the WLSSD hotline at 218-722-0761 with questions about proper disposal.
