DULUTH - Hmong families rang in the new year with other community members across the Northland.
Residents gathered at the Copper Top Church on Saturday to celebrate the new year by hosting a social, program and a meal while preserving their traditions by wearing traditional Hmong clothing and reflecting on their heritage.
“We want to make sure that the old year is passing on as we go into the new year.
Make sure all the families get together and socialize and kind of remember the past and also to bring something to the future as well,” Chue Feng Vang, a community member, said.
There are approximately twenty Hmong families living in Duluth.
