SHELL LAKE - One of the inmates who escaped from Gordon's Correctional Center in September of 2011 has been handed his sentence. Twenty-eight year old Caleb Smith was caught in Colorado in October of 2011 after escaping from his work release site.

While he was on the loose he assaulted an 82–year–old man and stole his vehicle in Blaine Township.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, armed robbery, theft of movable property and operating a vehicle without the consent of the passenger.

He'll have to serve eight years in prison and five years of probation.
