TWO HARBORS - Lake County businesses often filled with tourists at this time of the year have seen some financial damage since the flood.
Specific information on lost revenue in the county was not yet available Wednesday.
However, county officials are already getting paperwork started to try and get some state and/or federal aid for the lost revenue.
The county's administrator said the closure of Highway 61 gave tourists the wrong impression.
"A lot of people thought we were closed down, that you couldn't get up to Lake County, when indeed, by the weekend time you were able to get across some of the major routes in the county," Lake County Administrator Matt Huddleston said.
Huddleston said last weekend's "World’s Largest ATV Parade" alone lacked hundreds of expected visitors.
A detour has been set up to get from Duluth to Two Harbors through Scenic Highway 61.
