DULUTH-After ten years of business, one local restaurant shut its doors for good on Saturday.

The Vietnamese Lotus Inn opened in the summer of 2003, run by Steve Allen and his wife.

“Try to compete with the big boys like McDonalds and Red Lobster. And we have a niche market, people like our food and people like traditional things, so, it’s been good,” Allen said.

Allen also said that starting the restaurant was an adventure, and that he plans to move on to the next one.
