SEATTLE (AP) Rookie slugger Jesus Montero lined a two-run double in the first inning to get Seattle on the board, Mike Carp added his first homer of the season and the Mariners cruised to a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.
Seattle starter Hector Noesi took a shutout into the seventh inning before giving up a solo home run to Ryan Doumit.
Despite the homer, Noesi (2-3) allowed just four hits and struck out five.
Doumit hit another solo shot in the ninth off reliever Tom Wilhelmsen.
Seattle won its second straight after snapping a seven-game losing streak on Saturday night.
The Twins now head home having dropped 11 of 13.
Minnesota starter Nick Blackburn (0-4) made it through six innings, but was battered early and remained winless in five starts this season.
