DULUTH -- Duluth Mayor Don Ness sounded off on a local blog Monday about the controversial, federally targeted, Last Place on Earth.
Ness' post on PerfectDuluthDay.com calls out Last Place owner Jim Carlson for hiding "...behind a dubious technicality claiming the poison he is selling is ok because chemists keep playing Russian roulette with his customers by changing chemical compounds on a regular basis.
Ness goes on to say he personally doesn't "have a problem with head hops as long as they are operated in a way that doesn't force other people to be burdened by the operation."
A grand jury is looking over federal charges against Carlson to decide whether to move forward with an indictment.
Carlson told FOX 21 on Monday that he's following the law and it's the City of Duluth that is the law breaker.
Carlson said he expects to be charged by the feds in the coming weeks but is confident a jury will find him not guilty of any crimes.
