For the first time in recorded history, the Twin Ports can officially say a tornado struck in city limits.
A big waterspout touched down on Lake Superior Thursday.
And on Friday, the National Weather Service said the waterspout actually turned into a tornado when it went across land on Park Point near the Sky Harbor Airport.
Carol Christensen, with the NWS, says winds were between 65 to 85 mph and strong enough to toss around 500 pound airplane floats.
The EF0 tornado eventually went over the St. Louis Bay before becoming a tornado again as it struck land near Barker's Island in Superior.
No damage was reported.
