DULUTH - Northland business and community leaders got a chance to hear perspective from the Federal Reserve.
President of the Minneapolis branch, Narayana Kocherlakota, visited the University Minnesota-Duluth as part of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics' Distinguished Speaker Series.
His goal was to gain a better understand of the range of economic activity happening in the Northland.
School leaders say it's also a chance for him to clear up any questions about the Federal Reserve with this being an election year.
"In this heat of the presidential debates and all of the elections, my guess is that a lot of people are confused about where is our economy? Where is it going?" said Dr. Kjell Knudsen, Dean of the Labovitz School of Business and Economics.
There are only 12 Federal Reserve Bank presidents in the country.
