MN Candidates Officially File for Open Seats

Some familiar political faces filed their candidacy in Duluth Tuesday.
Sen. Roger Reinert confirmed his run for a second term in Minnesota Senate Dist. 7.
Rep. Kerry Gauthier filed for re-election in Minnesota House Dist. 7-B.
Long-time Representative Mary Murphy filed in Dist. 3-B.
DFL-er Jason Metsa, of Virginia, has filed for state Representative District 6-B --the former seat of retiring Rep. Tom Rukavina.
DFL-er David Meyer, of Aurora, also filed for the 6-B seat Tuesday.
Lorrie Janatopoulos has announced her candidacy for the seat as well, but she did not officially file as of Tuesday.
In the St. Louis County Commissioner races, Chris Dahlberg filed for re-election, along with Steve O'Neill and Peg Sweeney. Hermantown City Councilor Pete Stauber also filed his papers for a commissioner seat.
Candidates have until June 5 to file at the St. Louis County Auditor's Office.
Also to note, 8th Congressional DFL candidate Rick Nolan officially filed for the seat currently occupied by Republican Chip Cravaack.
