MN DPS Warns Drivers to be Safe During Holiday

ST. PAUL - Authorities are urging drivers to plan for a sober ride this Fourth of July.The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says Independence Day is the state's deadliest day of the year on the road.
Drinking and driving are factors in 66 percent of deaths during the holiday.
Last year 15 people died on July 4th.
Authorities stress everyone needs to buckle up, drive at safe speeds and plan ahead for a sober ride.
