SUPERIOR - More than 37 million people joined forces across the country to put an end to crime and drug use Tuesday night.
It's all part of "National Night Out." Duluth and Superior participated in what's expected to one the largest National Night Out’s ever.
The night aims to strengthen neighborhood spirit and stresses the importance of police–community partnerships.
“They're going to come together. They're going to know each other. They're going to know their neighbor and take care of each other and help with the police department and their efforts to keep us safe," said Officer Bonnie Beste, of the Superior Police Department.
Authorities say National Night Out is also a way to send a message to criminals, letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
