HERMANTOWN - A group of Northland students graduated from a program Tuesday that teaches them how to be drug free.
Over the past six weeks, sixth graders at Hermantown Middle School have taken lessons from a Drug Abuse Resistance Education program or better known as D.A.R.E..
Students were taught how to resist getting involved in drugs, gangs and violence.
"Oftentimes people will ask how successful our program is and I always answer it in just one way, if we save one kid from being addicted from drugs its worth our efforts," Hermantown Police Chief Jim Crace said.
This is the only D.A.R.E. program left in the Twin Ports area.
