ORR - An Orr woman was charged on Friday after police said she assaulted two family members with a knife and started a fire in the basement of their home.

Melanie Porter, 27, was formally charged with second degree assault, terroristic threats and first degree arson.

It happened around 1:30 on Thursday morning.

Police said family members extinguished the fire and retained Porter until officers arrived.

She is being held at the Saint Louis County jail in Duluth and her bail was set at $50,000.
