DULUTH - If you were looking for parking outside of the Zeitgeist Arts building on Friday you may have found a makeshift green space instead.
This year a Duluth group is participating in "Parking Day".
It started five years ago in San Francisco and tries to show people hope much room urban areas give to cars.
"Typically there's one to four people maximum in a car and that space is devoted to only a car - not an entire day. So compare that to a park that could really house several people at any given time," Kelly Bartz with Loll Design said.
Organizers of the event also advocate for alternate forms of transportation, like biking.
