Plans for a new hotel on Maple Grove Road in Duluth haven fallen apart for now.City council president Dan Hartman says ZMC Hotels has canceled the plans for a multitude of reasons including opposition from neighbors in the area.

Hartman says the council may pursue the hotel at a later date.

Either way the council will be voting on whether to change the area of Maple Grove Road from residential to mixed–use residential for future development for Duluth's comprehensive plan.
