GRAND RAPIDS - A man accused of shooting two people and killing one of them in Grand Rapids in late December is expected to plead guilty. Twenty six year old William Payne of Bovey is facing eight charges, including second degree murder, first degree attempted murder and kidnapping.
He's accused of following his estranged wife to the home of 59 year old Rosemary Johnson and her 32 year old son Paul.
Police say he busted into their home, shot them both and kidnapped his wife.
He was eventually caught and days later Rosemary died.
Paul is still listed in fair condition at Essentia Health's St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
His plea hearing is set for early February.
