HERMANTOWN – There are three new places now available for you to drop off your unwanted medications.

You can take them to Duluth's Public Safety Building, the Proctor Police Department or the Hermantown Police department.

It's all part of the "Take it to the Box" program.

"It's our hope that the 'Take it to the Box' program ensures that all unwanted and expired medications are disposed of in a proper and timely matter by providing a safe and ready option to all residents,” said Marianne Bohren with the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District.

The drop boxes won't accept needles, syringes, lancets or thermometers.
