DULUTH - It may seem pretty odd having rainy conditions in January, but according to recent records, it is not all that uncommon.

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Duluth said Friday marked the fourth rainy January the area has seen in the past five years.

Last January recorded two days with rain.

"You would think in January in Duluth you'd just get nothing but snow and it'd be cold but we occasionally gets warm," Mike Stewart from the National Weather Service said.

The rain started trickling down around 7 p.m. Thursday.
