DULUTH - Thanks to a generous donation Northlanders will be keeping their feet warm this winter season. Fond Du Luth Casino gave the Salvation Army nearly three thousand pairs of socks.
It was done through their third annual "Make it a Point to Give" drive.
Organizers say they chose socks because it's an item that's needed and sometimes easily forgotten.
"People appreciate getting them, but they're always last on the list, you need things like food or clothing or jackets and mittens and scarves. So socks was what we decided to run with," said Tina Nordin, Fond Du Luth's Marketing Manager.
The drive also helped generate more than $2,600 for the Salvation Army in Duluth.
