Press Release
DULUTH - A continued lack of snow this winter means a delay for the snowmobile portion of the Yeti Tour. The 3rd annual Yeti Tour is a snowmobile event that benefits the March of Dimes.
The planned trail ride from Sunset Bar & Grill to Black Bear Casino & Resort will be rescheduled, weather permitting.
Snow or no snow, many Yeti Tour events will continue beginning Friday, January 25th with the ticket turn in and hang out from 7:00-8:00 pm at the Sunset Bar & Grill.
The Yeti Tour celebration and raffle drawing is set for Saturday, January 26th from 6:00-10:00 pm at Black Bear Casino & Resort.
The raffle drawing for a new 2012 Yamaha RS Vector LTX will take place Saturday at 9:00 pm.
This is the 3rd annual snowmobile ride organized by Nate and Kelly Alvar of Duluth.
They created this event in memory of their sons Isaiah, who died as an infant of severe birth defects, and Mason, who died as an infant from extreme prematurity.
It is also in honor of their sons Jonas, a healthy, thriving four-year old, and Elias, a happy, healthy six-month old.
All proceeds from Yeti Tour benefit the March of Dimes, whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
This is the second straight year a lack of snow forced the delay or cancellation of the snowmobile portion of the event.
The Yeti Tour raised $15,000 in 2012.
