CHISHOLM - Students and job seekers from across Minnesota traveled to the Iron Range hoping to snag one of 4,500 jobs on Friday.
The Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm hosted Mining Industry Day, allowing companies to talk with potential employees about job opportunities and qualifications.
Organizers say some businesses were running out of applications pretty fast. “We came with 200 evaluation forms for job seekers to complete and were almost out. We've had positive response, I've said to them where did you hear about it and they said almost everywhere and we felt so good because that’s what we've been trying to do,” Charlotte Hanegmon, a workforce development specialist, said.
They also held workshops focusing on resumes interviews and job searches.
